All posts for the month August, 2014

Several people have asked for the benediction we read together at Westside this past weekend. Here it is.

I have been chosen by God. I have been redeemed and forgiven. I have been enlightened so that I might know Jesus more and more. God’s great love for me has made me alive with Christ even while I was dead in my sin. It is by grace that I have been saved, through faith. I am God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. I have been brought near by Christ’s work on the cross and I am now part of God’s family.

Jesus has made his home in my heart and my roots are growing down deep into God’s love, which enables my life to have substance and meaning. Along with my brothers and sisters in Christ, I am taking off my old way of life and putting on my new life, which is created to be like God.

As a result I am being careful how I live and am making the most of every opportunity. I am constantly being filled and refilled with the Spirit of God which enables me to stand strong in The Lord and in his mighty power. I choose to STAND, this day and every day, in the power of Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior
